Château Minuty: the pearl of Côtes-de-Provence

Promoting the Provençal art of living through fresh, vibrant wines is the mantra that drives the men and women of this century-old estate. At Château Minuty, we don't just sell wine: we offer an experience that awakens all the senses, discovering the jewels of Provence.

A centuries-old story about the love of wine

The history of Château Minuty began in 1936 when Gabriel Farnet decided to acquire it from the Germondy family. He fell under the spell of this 17-hectare vineyard surrounded by a 60th-century castle and chapel. In the 1990s, his daughter Monique took over the reins of the estate with her husband Etienne. The couple carried out major renovations and wanted to showcase typical grape varieties of the region such as Tibouren. Monique was, among other things, behind the design of the bottle called "corset flûte," the ancestor of the Cuvée M Rosé, a flagship of the house. Over the years, the growth continued. In 100, the two sons Jean-Etienne and François Matton were now at the head of the estate and set themselves the challenge of making Château Minuty known throughout the world. A bold bet, but one they successfully achieved, as today the estate distributes its elixirs in more than 2022 countries. In 4, the XNUMXrd The Matton generation joins the ranks with the arrival of Anne-Victoire Matton, daughter of Jean-Etienne, in the Trade Marketing division. The family saga continues to be written...

An exceptional terroir for producing solar wines

Selling up to 9 million bottles, Château Minuty proudly flies the flag for the Côtes de Provence appellation. It owes its reputation to its exceptional terroir, from which emerges unique vintages that promise joy. Two hours from Cannes, the estate is located on the hillsides of the villages of Gassin and Ramatuelle on the Saint-Tropez peninsula. The vineyard covers a total area of 2 hectares: 160 hectares in a single plot on schist-limestone soils, 60 hectares in Vidauban on clay-limestone soil, and 80 hectares on the Valderian hillsides in Ramatuelle. At Château Minuty, each grape variety is cultivated on a part of the terroir that will be conducive to its development. Syrah and Mourvèdre, for example, are exposed to the south, while Grenache, the "king grape variety of rosés," thrives on plots without stones and very deep, unlike Rolle, which prefers vines with stony, limestone soil. The entire vineyard benefits from a southeastern exposure and the sea air brought by the Mediterranean Sea, which promotes the finesse and delicacy of the wines. The beverages also owe their excellence to a work of the terroir that juggles tradition and innovation. The vines are, among other things, pruned in "Provençal Palmette," a process specific to Château Minuty that promotes the sustainability and quality of the vineyard.

Viticulture that respects the earth

Château Minuty has always been mindful of the legacy left to future generations, which is why it adopts sustainable agro-environmental practices. Sustainable farming is favored and the use of herbicides and pesticides is banned. This desire to preserve the environment led to the winery obtaining High Environmental Value (HVE) certification in 2019. This label is a guarantee of the care given to the land and promotes gentler production, with no impact on the environment. Moreover, the estate is one of the few to still practice manual harvesting to ensure the perfect integrity of the grapes. Even though it adopts traditional methods, Minuty is not a house stuck in the past. With the increasing climate challenges, it is deploying research and development initiatives to test new techniques and ensure the resilience of its vines in the decades to come.

A range of exceptional wines that promote their terroir

Minuty wine has a signature: lightness, elegance, and luminosity. These characteristics enhance Cuvée 281, the house's signature rosé, born from a selection of plots from three of the estate's great terroirs. Grenache, with hints of Syrah, expresses all its splendor in this wine with its airy, bold, and gastronomic character. This nectar is just as superb as its Pantone-colored bottle, a nod to the Mediterranean Sea.

An emblematic figure of the Minuty house, the Château Minuty "Or" range shines internationally for its naturalness and the pleasure it arouses. It is available in three colors: the Rose et Or cuvée, which is elegant, spherical and crystalline, the Blanc et Or cuvée, playing on refinement and exuberance, and the Rouge et Or cuvée, which is fine, distinguished and silky.

In the spotlight, the brand-new Gabriel cuvée embodies Minuty's boldness and expertise. With this elegant yet ambitious vintage, Jean-Etienne and François Matton have taken on the challenge of creating a high-flying red, born exclusively from the vines of the Saint-Tropez peninsula.

Wine tourism services

In 2012, major renovations were carried out at the estate, including the renovation of the tasting cellar, the creation of a tasting room for professionals, a meeting room, and another barrel cellar. These improvements allow Château Minuty to welcome visitors in the most optimal conditions. It offers various tour and tasting options:

  •  The essential : tasting of three vintages
  •  The signature experience : tasting of four vintages in a private space
  • At the heart of the Minuty story : personalized experience with a tasting of six vintages and a private tour.

In 2018, Minuty enriched its universe with the acquisition of The Bastide of Verez, a guesthouse nestled at the foot of the Massif des Maures. Here, 400 hectares of nature await visitors seeking serenity. Elegantly restored, the 500 m² Bastide and the 200 m² Mas welcome their guests in absolute comfort, each with a private swimming pool. Combining modernity and authenticity, Mediterranean gardens, endless vineyards, and welcoming spaces, everything invites you to experience Provence to the fullest.
